Well… The season is officially underway!
Copper Mountain is always the place the world comes to for early season training and this year was no different. My team and I headed over in early Nov. and got some great early season training in. One of the events the team always looks forward to is spending a night with fans signing autographs. This year 83 lucky people got to come to a private signing with the team. I really enjoyed getting to meet all the people who came to the event and hearing about where they are from and their plans for the upcoming season.
On the night of the signing I got the best surprise. My Uncle Bill and his girl friend Leeayn flew in for my first race.
This year I kicked out of the start gate earlier than ever. My first race series was the Colorado NorAm SL and GS races on Nov. 18-21. Bill and Leeayn were able to come to the SL races over the weekend and got to see me end up on my first NorAm Podium.
This SL series was a great start for me and my SL skiing feels really strong right now. The Podium above was the U21 and under podium. I wound up second for Junior and 6th overall after a great second run. I also had a solid GS start and ended up with my best NorAm result in GS to date as well ending up 22nd at the second race.
